Timothy J. Wiegand, MD, FACMT, FAACT, DFASAM is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Public Health Sciences at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) in Rochester, New York. Board-certified in both Medical Toxicology and Addiction Medicine, Dr. Wiegand specializes in Addiction Toxicology, combining clinical practice with research, teaching, and leadership roles. He has served two terms on the Board of Directors for the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) and is currently on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). In 2023, he began a two-year term as Treasurer of ASAM, having previously served as Vice President on the Executive Council. Dr. Wiegand founded and led the Toxicology Service at URMC until 2022, when he transitioned to Director of Addiction Medicine and Director of Addiction Medicine Consults in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He also serves as Fellowship Director for the URMC Combined Addiction Medicine Fellowship and is leading efforts to launch the URMC Medical Toxicology Fellowship, which is expected to be formally accredited by July 2023.

Gloria Baciewicz, MD (Moderator)

Strong Recovery

Since 1986, Gloria Baciewicz has specialized in the treatment of addiction. Professor of clinical psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center, she serves as an addiction psychiatrist at Strong Recovery. Dr. Baciewicz is certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine and board certified in psychiatry, with added qualifications in addiction psychiatry. Dr. Baciewicz is a co-principal investigator for the University of Rochester’s Recovery Center of Excellence.

Rachel Gorodetsky, PharmD, DABAT, FAACT

Clinical Associate Professor, D'Youville School of Pharmacy

Consulting Clinical Toxicologist, University of Rochester Medical Center and Upstate New York Poison Center

Dr. Gorodetsky is a Clinical Associate Professor at D’Youville College School of Pharmacy and holds faculty appointments in the Departments of Emergency Medicine at both the University of Rochester Medical Center and SUNY Upstate Medical Center and she is a consultant for the Upstate New York Poison Center. Through these positions, she is active in direct patient care and in the teaching and training of both pharmacy and medical students, residents, and fellows. She completed her PharmD at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2009, followed by a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT, and a fellowship in clinical toxicology at the Georgia Poison Center in Atlanta, GA. She achieved the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Applied Toxicology (DABAT) in 2014. 

Kelly S. Ramsey, MD, MPH, MA, FACP, DFASAM

Addiction Medicine and Harm Reduction Consultant

Kelly S. Ramsey, MD, MPH, MA, FACP, FASAM is a board certified internal medicine and addiction medicine physician who has treated substance use disorder since 2004. She worked as Medical Director of an academic center-based OTP in the South Bronx before working for nearly a decade for a large FQHC in the Hudson Valley where she created and grew a MAT program for OUD and AUD to 10 sites and 1500 patients. Most recently, Dr. Ramsey worked as the Chief of Medical Services at the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). Dr. Ramsey currently works as an Addiction Medicine and Harm Reduction consultant as well as providing clinical care in addiction medicine. She has provided expert advice to the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute, serving on numerous committees for about 15 years, proving expertise in addiction medicine, harm reduction, HIV care, and HCV care. Dr. Ramsey was the recipient of the New York State Commissioner’s Special Recognition Award for contributions to drug user health in NYS in December 2018. Dr. Ramsey was the Distinguished Contributions to Behavioral Medicine Award Recipient, awarded by the American College of Physicians (ACP)in April 2023. Dr. Ramsey was awarded the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine Special Medical Alumni Board Award in October 2023. Dr. Ramsey is the President for the NYSAM BOD. In addition, she currently serves as Region I Director on the ASAM Board of Directors.
