Cases:

  • A 17-year-old girl presents to a community hospital in status epilepticus and hypotensive after an intentional ingestion of her medication. She is intubated and requires vasopressors.
  • A 33-year-old man presents to an ED from a detox center complaining of worsening withdrawal despite treatment at the center.
  • A nine-month-old boy presents to the ED with symptoms of a viral infection, irritability, and inconsolability. His vital signs are: BP, 101/67; HR, 110; RR, 28; O2 sat, 100% RA; T, 98.9 F. Weight and height are below the 3rd percentile.
