Murder by Milligram: Investigating Surreptitious Poisonings

On-Demand

Presented by the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT), this symposium explores the clinical and forensic challenges of identifying and managing cases of surreptitious poisoning. Expert-led sessions explore key topics such as pre-hospital management, diagnostic dilemmas, differential diagnosis in the emergency setting, and the role of analytical testing. Additional presentations address effective communication with the media and preparing for expert witness testimony.

This on-demand course features recordings from the live event held on April 2, 2025, in Vancouver, Canada. The content has been edited into a digital package that includes nine asynchronous lectures from leading experts in the field. Designed for physicians and healthcare professionals in emergency medicine, medical toxicology, and forensic medicine, this activity provides essential tools to improve patient outcomes in complex poisoning cases.
